Valeu Helmer!
Nem me lembrei do cansaço que agora, enquanto escrevo, me domina.
Preikestolen – A day to go down in history!
Apr 28th – Today it was a very special Day!
Helmer prepared a delicious breakfast and we said goodbye although we were sure we would meet each other again. I would like to let him know that I’m very thankful to what he did for me… A great guy who has received me with open arms and has treated me like if we were friends for long years. Thanks Helmer!
Than I went to Stavanger to meet Clau at the Jakob’s Brod. The friendly girl from Rio de Janeiro with an easy smile introduced me to Jakob who was also very friendly. He gave me a recipe for his delicious bread and told me the story of his bakery. He told me about the production as well as about the distribution.
Right after I crossed the first river on the trip. From Stavanger, I took a boat to Tau and than I pedaled to the entrance of the Park in Preikestolen.
I was eager to know the place. Even before making the check-in at the Hostel, I arranged my things and went on a 2.4 miles hike with an inclination of 1982 feet. It is a quite difficult walk, especially after having pedaled all day long. But I couldn’t leave it for tomorrow!
During the hike, I was distracted with my head on the clouds when I run across a couple. I little while before I met them, I thought I had heard some words in Portuguese. From far I could see a typical Norwegian blondie and I thought I was getting crazy. When we met, we said “Hi”. Two meters ahead, I heard a girl speaking Portuguese. In short, I met a Brazilian in the track who dates a Norwegian. We briefly greeted each other and went on opposite directions. Almost no one in the track, and I bump into a Brazilian chap! Fucking coincidence!
Preikestolen is one of the main attractions of my trip. A Magic place! A plateau 2.000 feet high on the edge of a beautiful fjord.
One of the most sensational places I have ever been to. A hugeness that brought me a sensation of peace and happiness. How many things have passed through my mind along this two hours and a half. Only a couple was sharing the place with me. Total tranquility. I contemplated the view for more than two hours. I waited until the last sun ray disappeared before I left. I didn´t even remember how tired I was, now while I am writing, I realize that I am really tired. Today it was a day to go down in history, one of the most spectacular in my life.
